Lake Serene, April 7th
The trail starts off of hwy 2 (near mile post 35, Mt Index rd), after 2 miles the trail splits:
1) 1/2 mile trail going to bridal veil falls (and then back the same way to the split)
2) 2 mile walk to lake Serene
We went up to the falls first and then to the lake. The way to the split is really easy and flat, there is a bit of a slope going up to the falls, some stairs too... The way to the lake is a beautiful hike through a forest, it is steeper than before but still ok...We weren't repared but the snow did not melt yet at the top and we heard a few avalanches...the lake is partially frozen as well.
So, a total of 8miles (a bit over 12km), about 3 hours to go up and another 2 to go down. we ere on the trail for almost 6 hours including photographing, eating and resting. Enjoy :)
